Using pre-prepared sweets and details to decorate cakes often looks a bit... pre-prepared. It can detract from the lovely home-made feeling of the baking itself. Much as minimalism can be beautiful, finding a balance between leaving cakes bare and unadorned or finding the time to do them justice can be challenging.
